BACK AT LAST

guess who's back guess who's back.

according to new and improved blogger, my last post was on may 27. oh i know, i'm becoming a lousier blogger by the day, but that's okay right? right. i knew you guys would forgive me. or at least, my dear bloggie would.

lotsa things have happened, and no, the tone of this one won't be as bitter as the last post's. hehe.

let's see. so i gave my speech (nice daw, but i hope it was inspiring and witty enough for those playful freshmen kiddos), kristia's dinner at jack's ridge with some of her closest friends was lovely, raissa's debut at the apo view hotel was quite a reunion of sorts. and, as thirdie says, that was my "time to shine" daw. ha. ha.

jack's ridge tlga is nice. the view of the city is breathtaking, and it was only then that i realized, free pala ang entrance. quite a lovers' place, really. the sprawling greenery, the viewdecks, the playgrounds, those benches for two, the restaurants and all. you know what i mean. that kind of thing. i thought kristia's dinner was a family thing, with a few guests, but it turns out it was kristia alone, with her bestfriend myka, a good amount of moolah (i presumed), a greedy small bunch of fellow titans (me included.

the dinner was good, and quite heavy too (kristia apparently overestimated, but no one was complaining), and afterwards we just walked around and talked and laughed and took photos and laughed again. went home at past 12.

another reunion was raissa's debut the next day. i showed up surprisingly early, kasi nga raw may last minute dance prac. i never did fully master the steps, pero i think i did good enough and hindi nagkalat. revelation daw according to our high school electronics teacher, sir cromwell. grabe, that guy's one of the greatest dancers i know. even thirdie the total performer looks up to him. anyway, i have this new habit of losing myself in discos (i never did quite do that say, last year?), so it was good fun. never mind if i stuttered during my little 18 treasures' speech. ;)

guess what i gave raissa for a gift. ANOTHER book. all three debuts i attended this summer: all books.

for jenni the cool and funky and stylish and ex-bookworm (i think), i gave dan brown's angels & demons. i wanna read it tlga, but all i could do was sigh as i was wrapping it up.

for clang the LOTR fanatic, i gave her The Lord of the FLIES. haha. you could tell someone was running out of ideas. (trivia: lord of the flies was a sort of inspiration for the survivor series.)

and for raissa, this collection of short stories entitled Catch Me a Firefly. o diba?
it's by a Pinay writer, and, although there were a few grammar glitches in the first few stories, i still hope rai appreciates the book. after all, it's about charming little stories from the point of view of a young woman. set pa in the olden times of sorts.

after i've exhausted all three debuts i get to attend (no info yet about the next ones, and since i'm back in s'pore late july, la na till end of november), and now that my friends are getting back to school na, i'm forced to rethink my summer plans.

so far i've watched lotsa movies na with friends in the span of a month: peter pan, van helsing, troy, shrek 2, day after tomorrow, harry potter 3, and some more pa, since more good flicks are coming. also, i'm still into page 500+ of HP book 5. i read it through the PC, as i'm too poor to buy the book. hehe.

btw, i thought HP3 was very good. i could not believe my ears when some of my moviemates, 3 of them, were one in saying pangit daw. rather dragging daw and boring.
i couldn't say i was impartial anyway, since the 3rd HP book was my favorite of the lot. i watched it again tuloy, alone this time, in an attempt to see it more objectively. i still like it best among the 3 films so far. darker, not too kiddie anymore, better cinematography, and sharper humor. ans shempre the story is better, at elast for me. but then again baka biased lang.

tama, i have a grand total of 8 mutts to attend to. grabe, that terrier bitch gave birth to 7 little pups. ayun, they're 8 na, double the number of members in MY family. ha. it's messy to have all those mutts, i tell you. but it's okay. i think.

hmm.. i'm digressing uli. i'm learning how to drive na pala, although i doubt i'll have a license before i enroll end of july. sige na, it's been way too long na.

i've been working on a new look for the blog. it's still undone, but you see naman the changes, so it's getting somewhere, definitely. hopefully better.

ciao!
