SHORT TAKES II

this time it's for real.
them being short, that is. (i try, trust me)

MUD AND CHEESE

a.k.a. SURVIVOR finale. i never thought the day would come that i'd hate the ending of any survivor season.
Bastard Rob and Amber in the final two? Good Lord.
okay, so they deserve it and all since they worked their way through it, but they were just eeeeevil. or maybe bastard rob mostly (nuff of ur handshakes), but amber, though hot and sexy, has gotten more bitchy than appropriate.
excessive cheesiness in the focus of the romantic side of it ("he makes me feel secure", the proposal, etc..)
i liked the part where the jury got to talk finally though. they were throwing mud at both of the finalists like mad. they deserved every bit of it.
alicia: "..butt-kissing and ego-stroking.."
tom: (tricks rob with a supposed handshake) "don't be stupid, stupid."

TROY
fell short. although it was a good effort, it wasn't too climactic.
the movie had the feel of an old film, and it felt.. HOT. literally. what with the sand, the dust. and they magnified the role of paris, sensationalized possible love angles.
some discrepancies too, but not having read the iliad fully myself, i don't know really. did achilles really enter troy? or did paris shoot achilles WHILE he was dragging hector around? and i'm not too sure about the love thing between achilles and paris and hector's cousin...
tama, my sister absolutely HATES orlando bloom now. everytime she sees him on tv, she says with passion, "bayot(bakla) ka orlando bloom!"
a friend of hers claims that mr. bloom is gay based on some magazine or internet stuff. dunno.

PICOBELLO
grabe, ang sarap tlga ng italian food. especially the genuine type.
as in the type where i'd need a translator to understand the menu, and the prices are out of reach. thankfully i was with mike in a generous mood, and picobello had a buy 1 take one offer 2-5:30pm. mike and jack and i came at around 5:20sumthing after troy. hehe. great food, great view, great conversation place.

FRIENDSTER
whatever happened to my 2004 testimonials?!
hmph. i mean, more than anything, testimonials endear me to friends. hmph.
one of my goals pa naman this summer is to make my friends a testi each. i hope the system's okay na.

BLOGGER
bago na pala blogger!
cool look! looks fresh and inviting.
hmmm.. should i change na kaya my template? hehe.

MATRIX DEBUT
my good friend clang had her debut last night.
her family's well-off, and her mom is just the most tasteful, coolest lady i know. so when i heard she had a debut that required a rave outfit, i knew this was gonna be grand and different and cool.
they booked "the venue" for a night, and made themed it ala matrix.
there was a lift with a pyramid-like something at the center, that would piece by piece be formed per segment of the show, in the ceiling was something that resembled one the insectlike enemies of neo and the gang, and at the side of the stage was a big comfy chair set on a panel that revolved into backstage for use in clang's entry and exit in her preformances. there was leather everywhere, some 5 professional groups of dancers. they showed some clips of the actual matrix flicks, and clang would enter and sing (to our surprise), or dance with the leather-clad dancers, or pretend to be neo and kick and punch and dodge attacks, leaving a pile of agent smiths behind (ala matrix 2). the 18 roses thing was incorporated into a techno dance, some 18 male dancers gave her the flowers in a choreographed dance. ditto with the 18 "candles", where 18 lady dancers used those swords that light up in the dark, and clang would come to each of them, one by one, and with a swipe of her hand, "put out" the light of each sword.
the music turned to "sweet child of mine", and it was the intro to a video docu of clang's life so far, as told by her mom. cool eh? sweet child of mine nga naman. hehe.
later, clang gave another electrifying dance, which culminated in her heading for the drum set, where she played her instrument with a guy on guitar. superb.
i'm lousy in telling stories, but trust me, for a while it seemed like ASAP mania. really really.
after the speeches, it was time for the disco. it was good fun. my rapper friend may anne stole the stage from the band by singing "where is the love" and "shut up" perfectly, and later, it was thirdie who went up to sing "happy".
it was the perfect place for a reunion too. and i was so glad to have met again my friends from far away, especially evita and kristia. and ateneo people, iza and mm. friends in grade 6.
coolest party ever. thanks clang! and happy birthday.

too long now. and my eyes hurt na.
till the next!
