i'm drained but i'm okay.
my previous blog mentioned the major (albeit miserable) highlight of my day.
i'm glad that apparently wayne, kors, and ivy didn't read my blog before going to dinner. they barely noticed there was something wrong with me (at least i think so...or maybe they're good actors like me too?! =P).
anyway, besides feeling a bit "funny" (but it's not funny to feel like this at all, mind you), i think i was okay. i'm not one to wallow in misery excessively, but yeah, i was shaken. still, i managed to have some control. i had to, because i had a PR comm meeting at 9pm, together with the archives comm, to discuss plans for the coming heritage week in our hall next month.
the joint meeting was okay. i didn't do much but listen to some plans for that special week, and some mandarin here, mandarin there. i didn't mind. i was patiently listening (or appearing to be). shijie, the in-charge for the designs under the publicity arm of pr comm, tasked me to bring my laptop as he would have to use a design i made, to be used as a bookmark. let me try to post it here:

you see, i really am drained and i must cut this short even if my paragraph doesn't have a complete thought yet. yes, i think i'm just uber tired. i promise to work on this again in the very near future. good night!

okay. it's 5:27pm now, and i've decided to tell u why i was so tired last night.
it won't take much space really. i sure hope so.
anyway, the design i made is posted on top. i made another variation with a clock in the background casting a shadow, which is shown on the right. anyway, shijie decided that the one on the left, without the clock, would be used for the bookmark.
that was at around 11pm, after the meeting with the archives comm.
frankly, i didn't seem to have much use in the inter-comm meeting, since the heads were those who did most of the talking, and i had the feeling i was merely there so that, when the heads could talk about the manpower of pr comm, they could look at me and say they actually have subordinates. you see, my task was to do the banner with pacey, an artistic vietnamese, and that job of ours seemed to have been quite settled already, quite detached from the display boards on which the archives' output would be posted. oh well, i didn't mind staying. my thoughts wandered a few times, but i managed to take note of the important points.
hmmm.. i digressed again, i think. oh well. let's carry on.
so shijie asked me to make the design and prepare it to be printed on bookmarks to be sent to our hall's sponsors for Chinese New Year greetings. it wasn't a terrible task.. 20 bookmarks on an A4 size paper, the house design in front, the PR comm logo at the back. it wasn't supposed to be too time-consuming, thanks to the wonders of photoshop.
so that's what i did. why it took me until past 1am?
because, after i had made the front design, which i sent to shijie through msn, he realized that the design should NOT have the words "heritage week". okay. it wouldn't have been a problem to remove the text, but i already merged the layers.
so i got the original design, edited it again, and made 20. then, photoshop just had to HANG. i was a little annoyed, but surprisingly, this new sem has seen me a little more patient, a little more accepting. after i edited it for the second time, i sent it. there.
then i had to make 20 too for the PR comm logo. i had trouble looking for the logo, as it was not in the files folder in the yahoo!groups site. i told shijie, and he tried sending it to m through msn, but the sending failed for some reason. being the clever kid that i am, i opened a welcome letter file from my boss weikai, and there was the logo in the letterhead. that did it. it turned out okay.
hmmm.. i think i've been telling useless and uninteresting stuff in the above text.. anyway, needless to say, i went to bed after that. but only after i went down to meet shijie's girlfriend to give her the gold thread xiaolong and i went to buy in clementi to be used for the bookmarks, AND, after i typed my blog.
there. it's raining right now. i'm feeling strangely fine.
it's 5:58 already, i'm meeting nestor and wayne and kor and ivy for dinner, then we'll go to the pinoy meeting at the hon sui sen library to discuss plans for the international students night next month. oh, and i have to do my maths tutorial too. sigh. i should control my internet activities!
